A: In normal conditions IT REALLY CAN'T ! Dash7 uses only low voltage and low current (DC 5-12V, < 1 Amp), which cannot harm a person. The device uses an internal and external electrical fuses to protect it from the damage or fire. Internal power supply has overheat and overcurrent protection. Dash7" does not use a large Li-Po or Li-Ion batteries that could explode (like tablets or other mobile devices). It use only small CR1220 3V lithium battery for internal real time clock. This battery also could be removed and everything but date and time function will work normally. Composite plastic case is made from durable and safe, flame-retardant material which does not support the burning and stops burning as soon as the fire source disappears. When Dash7" is turned off, it is completely cut from the power, so it can't start fire or drain your battery like some other devices used in cars.
